Dr. Ingrida Milkaite presents her doctoral research to governmental and academic colleagues
(10-11-2021) On 20 October 2021 dr. Ingrida Milkaite, an FWO postdoctoral researcher at the Law & Technology research group, presented some of the findings of her doctoral research on children’s right to privacy and data protection.
On 20 October 2021 dr. Ingrida Milkaite, an FWO postdoctoral researcher at the Law & Technology research group, presented some of the findings of her doctoral research on children’s right to privacy and data protection in the digital environment to the Lithuanian State Child Rights Protection and Adoption Service under the Ministry of Social Security and Labour.
The State Child Rights Protection and Adoption Service is the central institution for the protection and defence of the rights of the child that implements the Children Rights Protection Policy in Lithuania as well as participates in the process of the state policy making in the field of children’s rights.
During her talk, Ingrida focused on the most important and relevant data protection rules applicable to governmental institutions in the context of adoption proceedings. She also discussed pressing practical issues and questions arising in the daily work of the State Child Rights Protection and Adoption Service of the Republic of Lithuania.
On 12 November 2021, Ingrida will give a guest lecture on ‘Children’s right to privacy and data protection in digital environment’ to the students of the Advanced Human Rights course at the Faculty of Law and Criminology, Ghent University.
