Astrid Pepermans

Astrid Pepermans holds a Master’s degree in Political Sciences (summa cum laude, 2015) and a PhD in Political Sciences (2020), with a focus on Chinese–European political and economic relations.

Between 2022 and 2024, she worked as a Senior Research Fellow at the Egmont Institute, contributing to a Horizon 2020 project on contemporary China. During this period, she also gained hands-on experience in judicial investigations as an assistant in case file management. Between 2023 and 2024, she served as a doctor-assistant at the Department of Political Sciences at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel.

In 2025, she completed a Master’s degree in International and European Law (magna cum laude) at the VUB and subsequently commenced a new research trajectory at Ghent University in procedural law, focusing on the judicial standing of associations and the legal mechanisms through which they may pursue and protect general interests as defined in their statutory objectives.
