Joint PhD Seminar on Civil Procedure at The Hague Court of Appeal
(18-05-2026) On Friday 24 April 2026, the fourth edition of the joint PhD seminar on civil procedure, organised by Leiden University and Ghent University, took place.
Following previous editions at the Dutch Supreme Court in The Hague (2023), at the law firm De Brauw in Amsterdam (2024), and at the Faculty of Law and Criminology of Ghent University (2025), this year’s edition was kindly hosted by The Hague Court of Appeal.
During the seminar, PhD researchers from Leiden and Ghent presented parts of their research in the field of civil procedure. The presentations by Niek Zondag (Leiden), Fien Marchand (Ghent/Leuven), Julie Reynders (Leiden), Silke Onraedt (Ghent), Hetty de Rooij (Leiden) and Xiya Wang (Ghent) gave rise to lively discussions among the participants on a wide range of topics.
