Publication Liber Amicorum Piet Taelman “Puur Procesrecht”

(17-10-2025) To mark the retirement of Professor Piet Taelman, a Liber Amicorum has been published under the title "Puur Procesrecht" (“Pure Procedural Law”).

Puur Procesrecht is a brief alliteration that aptly captures his distinguished career in the field of civil procedure.

The volume was edited by Wannes Vandenbussche, Karen Broeckx, Sabien Lust, Bart Krans, and Stefaan Voet. What sets this Liber Amicorum apart is that all contributors deliberately engaged with procedural law or the administration of justice, interpreted in the broadest sense.

The result is a substantial academic volume of 890 pages, comprising 44 peer-reviewed contributions in three languages (Dutch, French, and English), written by 51 authors, and organised into the following thematic sections:

  • rules of civil litigation;
  • appeals;
  • res judicata and the effects of judgments;
  • enforcement law;
  • collective and public interest actions;
  • professional actors in law;
  • domain-specific procedural law.
