Op dinsdag 18 maart 2025 vindt om 17u in Auditorium E de publieke lezing plaats van professor Anna Nylund (Universiteit van Bergen, Noorwegen) in het kader van de Marcel Storme Leerstoel met als titel: ‘If mediation is the answer, what is the question? Ideas for accessible, just and sustainable dispute resolution’.
Korte inhoud:
Mediation and alternative dispute resolution (ADR) have been 'buzzwords' and presented as a cure for most problems related to costly and complicated court proceedings. However, mediation and ADR are vague, broad terms encompassing a range of processes, each of which has its uses, advantages and disadvantages. To 'fix' the justice system, we must first identify the problems citizens, businesses and society currently face when they attempt to resolve their disputes. After that, we can identify dispute resolution processes and mechanisms that reduce those problems.
