Faculty of Law & Criminology hosts study visit for Russian students

(04-07-2019) Ten Master students from MGIMO, the Moscow State Institute of International Relations, visit UGent on their EU study tour

Professor Anna Tsibulina is the driving force behind the study visit. She is teaching a Jean Monnet module at the European Studies Institute at MGIMO University , and the study visit is part of the curriculum. Prof. Tsibulina: “The aim of this study-visit is to visit the European institutions and meet with experts to discuss the issues related to the European Union and EU-Russia relations.”

Professor Peter van Elsuwege, chairman of the Faculty Committee for Internationalisation, gave a lecture on the legal framework of the EU-Russia relations and presented the Russia Platform. Kirill Entin, Russian visiting fellow at the faculty, shared his views and experiences with the students. Additionally there was a short guided visit to the faculty, which is located in the city centre.

Five of the students are civil servants representing the Ministry of Sport, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the Federal Treasury, the Eurasian Economic Commission and the Federal Financial Monitoring.
