Selection results call 2018 Russia Platform’s Short-term Fellowship Program

(20-12-2018) Seven researchers from Russian institutions obtained a grant for a research stay at Ghent University in 2019.

The Russia Platform Fellowships are geared towards scholars who have earned their doctoral degree and who are affiliated with a Russia based higher education or research institution.

The  fellowships include a grant of 2000 € for a minimum stay of one month, which is meant to cover (part of the) travel costs, housing and living expenditures.
There were 21 applications for the 2018 call. The selection committee evaluated all files, based on different criteria:

  • The candidate’s profile
  • The overall quality of the proposal
  • The motivation and feasibility of the research plan
  • Added value/sustainability

The selection committee also strived for a balance in UGent faculties involved, senior and junior candidates, new and existing partnerships and home institutions.

The selected candidates are:

  • Israël Marques: Higher School of Economics Moscow: faculty of Economics and Business Administration, Prof. Koen Schoors
  • Natalia Morozova, Higher School of Economics Nizhny Novgorod: faculty of Political and Social Sciences, Prof. Fabienne Bossuyt
  • Evgeny Vetrov, Institute of Geology and Mineralogy RAS: faculty of Sciences, Prof. Johan De Grave
  • Tatiana Mishchenko, Lobachevsky State University: faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Prof. Dmitri Krysko
  • Kirill Entin, Higher School of Economics Moscow: faculty of Law, Prof. Peter Van Elsuwege
  • Mikhail Pinchuk, Institute for Electrophysics and Electric Power RAS: faculty of Engineering and Architecture, Prof. Christophe Leys

Reserve candidate:
