Some facts and myths surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic in the US

We are proud to announce that Prof. dr. Nicholas Jewell (London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and University of California, Berkeley) agreed to give a talk on Statistics and Epidemics.

Abstract.

I will discuss some of the facts and myths surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic in the US, focusing on insights that are provided via mathematical models and the use of statistical information. We will also discuss where we need to go from here in terms of data collection and interpretation.

The talk will be organised via Zoom (see below for details) on March 10 at 20h. After the talk (approximately 45 min) you will have the opportunity to ask questions.
