The first lecture of Cocreation is open for everyone who might be interested.

The first introductory lecture of the Ghent University elective course Cocreation is open for everyone.

What do sociologists, computer scientists, biologists, sport scientists and economists have in common? At first sight, not so much because their fields of study are very different. But if you want to solve societal problems successfully, you will need people with different degrees and backgrounds. In a cocreation project different experts come together to solve these problems together.

In the Ghent University elective course cocreation you learn how a cocreation  project works and you work together with other students to solve a challenging case that will built future societies. Every project has different dimensions and stakeholders and focusses on the integration of human-centered, economic and technology aspects to provide an answer to a concrete case provided by industry or an organisation.

You get introduced to design thinking, a method with many benefits when it comes to solving these complex problems.

Once every two weeks there are inspiring and engaging lectures and debates about different topics. Next to that you have biweekly sessions in which you work on your project and are guided by the professors and assistants.

The classes take place in “The Foundry”, an inspiring workspace and atypical teaching environment with tasty coffee and enough cosy corners to work together with your team.

Cocreation is a year course of 6 credits. At the end of each semester we organise an event where you show your results to a wide external audience and experts from industry.

Do you still have doubts? Come to the introductory lecture that takes place on September 29, 2017 at 8:30 in “The Foundry”, Jozef Kluyskensstraat 31, Gent. You get familiar with the projects, the staff and the working environment.
