Quantifying relative bone mineral density in vertebrates


Today, we published a paper describing a method that allows to quantify relative bone mineral density, based on µCT data and without the need of expensive phantoms of known mineral density. As a case study, we applied this method on normal gilthead seabream, and compared bone mineral density in several bones and the otoliths with that of seabream showing skeletal deformities.
