Annelore Podevyn

Position: doctoral researcherAnnelore Podevyn

Annelore Podevyn is a joint Ph.D. student in the Supramolecular Chemistry group (SC) and the Polymer Chemistry and Biomaterials (PBM) group since 2017. She did her master thesis under the supervision of Prof. Richard Hoogenboom and received her master degree in chemistry at Ghent University, Belgium, in 2016. Afterwards, she obtained the FWO-SB scholarship to start her research on the synthesis of photosensitive poly(2-oxazoline) and gelatin precursor for hybrid hydrogel development.

Research project:

Annelore's research focuses on the development of photo-crosslinkable hydrogel building blocks based on natural gelatin and synthetic poly(2-oxazoline)s, and subsequently processing them into precisely engineered hydrogels using a three-dimensional printing technique called two-photon polymerization (2PP). This way, the constructs can be used as scaffolds in tissue engineering as a potential alternative for transplantation from donors.
