Research interests
The subject of my master thesis concerned the compaction of sandy forest soils due to mechanized logging operations. As a lot of questions remained unanswered, my PhD also focused on the quantification of ecosystem effects and the exploration of the recovery potential after soil compaction due to mechanized forest
harvesting. Now, I’m studying the impact of diversity in the tree layer on the functional significance of forests (FunDiv project). More specific, we look at the composition and the biomass of the understorey layer, also examining the chemical composition of the soil and the biomass under different tree species (combinations).
