Justine holds two master's degrees in Bioscience Engineering from Ghent University: one with specialization in Environmental Technologies and the other specializing in Land, Water & Climate. Her thesis in Environmental Technologies examined the impact of COVID-19 lockdown measures on air quality in Flanders, while her thesis in Land, Water & Climate analysed historical climate records from various weather stations in the Congo Basin during the colonial period. In October 2025, she started her doctoral research within the European project GroundWork, which focuses on regenerative living labs to improve soil health by adapting agricultural land use through livestock integration. Her research is conducted under the supervision of Prof. Stefaan De Neve.
