Nick first graduated as an Archaeologist at the Faculty of Arts and Philosophy of Ghent University. Later on he obtained a MSc. degree in Geography at the Faculty of Sciences. His Msc. thesis project focussed on soil classification, erosion and sediment redistribution over long time scales in the agrarian basin of Lauwerdal (Northern France). He currently works at the Department of Environment as a teaching assistant and PhD student. His research focusses on the dynamics of microplastics in soils from a pedological perspective, under the supervision of Prof. Stefaan De Neve and co-promotors Prof. Ann Verdoodt and Prof. Steven Sleutel.
