Gideon Markman

Biography

 

Prentje Gideon Markman

 

Dr. Gideon D. Markman is a full professor of Strategy, Entrepreneurship, and Sustainable Enterprises at Colorado State University, and an Associate Editor of the Academy of Management Perspectives.  Professor Markman’s research focuses on competitive dynamics, market entry, entrepreneurship, and sustainability.  His scholarly work appears in diverse journals, including Academy of Management Review, Strategic Management Journal, Academy of Management Journal, Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of Management, Journal of Management Studies, Journal of Business Venturing, and Academy of Management Perspectives.  Professor Markman has led several special issues, such as on sustainability, ethics, and entrepreneurship (Journal of Management Studies) and theory building surrounding sustainable supply chain management (Journal of Supply Chain Management).  Finally, Professor Markman is the founder the Sustainability, Ethics, and Entrepreneurship (SEE) Conference, a high-end venue that is sponsored by several institutions and foundations, including the Kauffman Foundation.  He lives in Boulder CO with his wife and two sons.
