What is Pre-College?

To prepare for their first year at university admitted students can participate in a pre-college course which is organized at Ghent University Global Campus in the last three week of August.

The pre-college is highly recommended as it helps freshmen students to build a strong foundation before the actual academic year starts: students refresh their high school knowledge and start with new topics related to the courses of the first bachelor year.

The pre-college course consists out of three courses:

  • Mathematics
  • Chemistry
  • Informatics

These three courses are non-credit courses but mandatory if a student enrolls for the pre-college course. Each of these courses has 20 hours of teaching and practical exercises.

Next to these academic courses different sessions on “how to study”, “how to plan”, “how to cope with stress” and different social activities will be organized. A detailed program and time schedule will be announced later.

The Pre-college courses are free of charge for the students who paid the enrollment fee.
