At Upgrade Estate residences, a focus on creating a real community and ensuring an unforgettable student experience at Upkot is key.

In addition, sustainability is a central focus, both socially and ecologically.

The vibrant community is fostered by the Upkot coach, who will organize events to help students connect with one another. Upkot’s shared facilities and spaces naturally contribute to this and provide the necessary extra comfort for the students.

Residence Wing (Project Loop 7) is still under construction. Visits are not possible until further notice.

However, you can certainly get a sense of what life is like in a residence by watching the landlord’s promotional video (for investors), even as a prospective resident.

19 studios (no separate bedroom, private bathroom)  

  • Fixed furnishings: bed, wardrobe, desk

  • Private kitchenette
  • Not provided: bedding (pillows, sheets, blankets), kitchenware, towels

70 Rooms plus (no separate bedroom, private bathroom) 

  • Fixed furniture: bed, wardrobe, desk
  • Sink, shower, and toilet
  • Finishing touches: curtains & lighting
  • Shared kitchen
  • Not provided: bedding (pillows, sheets, blankets), kitchenware, towels

Availibility

For students in certain (international) degree programs only.

New applications are possible from 15.05.2026 (midnight) onwards for stays starting from 16.09.2026.

Payment of rent and security deposit

All payments and invoices are handled through Ghent University.
A deposit is no longer required from Ghent University: additional charges for damages will be charegd by invoice.

Check-in en check-out

Check-in

At Residentie Wing, you’ll need to register via an online tool to pick up your key from the housing coach. The link to this tool will be released later.

  • Schedule your appointment at least five business days before your desired check-in date. Check-in is not possible without a confirmed appointment!
  • Do you have questions about your unit (that are not related to your check-in appointment)? Please send an email to your local Residence coach.
  • After you have filled out the check-in link, you will receive an email with all the necessary information for your check-in.
  • You will check in to the apartment on your own, but the Upliving coach will schedule an appointment with you within 1 business day to show you around the building and all the facilities it offers.
