Study places
From sunlit window seats to quiet corners tucked away among the books, our library offers almost 900 study places. Take a seat, whether you're a student, a staff member, or a visitor.
Rules
Please keep these rules in mind to help keep the library a pleasant place to study:

Leave your bags in the lockers.

You can bring drinks, but please do not bring food.

Silence is golden.

One person, one seat: please don't save seats for friends.

Taking a break? If you plan to be away for more than an hour, please clear your desk so someone else can use it.
Reserved study areas
The study places in the library are open to everyone, but there are two exceptions:

The Loveling reading room is reserved for consulting materials that cannot be borrowed.

The study spaces of the Medieval History collection are reserved for history students and researchers only.
