Exchange application for Traineeship/internship
How to apply for your internship/traineeship exchange.
Applying for an exchange internship or traineeship?
Contrary to study exchange, there is no need for a bilateral agreement.
Traineeship/internship students don't have to be nominated, except for Medicine students.
What to do:
- Create a Ghent University account and register via the Oasis website
- Select the correct academic year of your exchange and click on the link ‘Exchange’ under ‘Curriculum’.
- Complete the Oasis application: complete all details and upload the required documents: Transcript of records (overview of results) + Trainee Agreement.
- Submit the application.
Deadline
The deadline for traineeship/internship exchanges is minimum 6 weeks before the start of the internship. In case you would need a visa, we advise to apply 3 months before.
Approval procedure
- After submitting your complete exchange application the Faculty Officer responsible for Internationalisation will assess your application.
- If the faculty approves your application, they will sign your Training Agreement.
- After the approval by your faculty you will receive an acceptance email and your official invitation letter. The invitation letter is required for registration upon arrival and for your visa application (if applicable).
The approval procedure can take several weeks.
Enrolment
Send an e-mail to enrol@ugent.be with your passport (ID), date of arrival and ask for enrolment. Your student card will be ready for pick-up at the Student Centre.
