Jentel Van Havermaet
Jentel Van Havermaet obtained a Master's degree in Educational Sciences, specialization Special needs Education and disability studies, at Ghent University in 2019. She finished her studies with a master's thesis on the parenting experiences of mothers and fathers living with a visual impairment. In the following academic year, she did some courses via credit contract, submitted a research proposal to the FWO and BOF and worked at a Local Police Office.
Since November 2020 she is doing her PhD with supervision of Prof. Geert Van Hove and Prof. Elisabeth De Schauwer. Her research focuses on the conceptualisation of a visual impairment for the person and their environment.
