SiS, The National Board of Institutional Care

The National Board of Institutional Care (SiS), gives training and shelter to people in marginalized situations. In 49 special approved LVM homes in various parts of Sweden, the SiS look after adult substance abusers as provided in LVM, i.e. the Care of Alcoholics, Drug Abusers and Abusers of Volatile Solvents Act. The purpose of this training is to suspend destructive abuse and motivate the individual for further care on a voluntary basis.

SNIPH, Swedisch National Institute of Public Health

The Swedish National Institute of Public Health (SNIPH), established in 1992, is a knowledge based centre for public health which monitors and evaluates Swedish public health policy and exercises supervision in the areas of alcohol, illicit drugs and tobacco.
