Hanna El Bachiri
Hanna El Bachiri studied law at Ghent University and graduated in 2016. Since 2025, she has been a voluntary researcher at the Centre for Law, Families and Diversity. She also supports the Center's work as a teaching assistant where needed. Hanna's expertise lies in the field of human rights and their application in government policy, with a particular focus on discrimination law and the role of equality bodies.
At the cabinet of the Flemish minister for equal opportunities, Hanna played a key role in establishing the Flemish Human Rights Institute from 2021 to 2024. In this role, she actively contributed to the institute's development and to embedding human rights within Flemish policy.
Today, Hanna is a deputy auditor at the Belgian Court of Audit, where she is responsible for international cases and the institution's European and international relations. In this role, she combines her legal expertise with a keen eye for good governance and institutional cooperation.
