Sarah Lambrecht

Sarah Lambrecht has been a magistrate (referendaris) at the Belgian Constitutional Court since 2014. She is a voluntary postdoctoral fellow in the Centre for Law, Families and Diversity.

She obtained her PhD on the anchoring of the European Convention on Human Rights in the 46 member states of the Council of Europe, which was awarded the Fernand Collin Prize. She was the first president of the Litigation Chamber of the Flemish Human Rights Institute, which handles discrimination cases, and continues to serve as an assessor and deputy president. She is also a lecturer at KU Leuven.

Previously, she was a research fellow of the Research Foundation – Flanders (FWO). As an FWO research fellow, she interned at the European Court of Human Rights and was a visiting researcher at the Centre for Public Law at the University of Cambridge.
