Mama Magda Aquaculture Fund

The Mama Magda Aquaculture Fund (MMAF) offers young researchers from the South a stipend up to 15,000 EUR for a research stay of 6 months at Ghent University in preparation for a joint PhD between Ghent University and their host institution.

Research topics are defined by the range of disciplines covered by the UGent Aquaculture Research & Development Consortium.

Magda Vanhooren

The Mama Magda Aquaculture Fund was established by Ghent University in memory of Magda Vanhooren who took care of social matters for the foreign students at the Laboratory of Aquaculture & Artemia Reference Center ever since 1978 until her untimely disease and passing away in Spring 2010 (see: in memoriam)
