Qiqi Gou
Qiqi Gou specializes in water transport in groundwater-soil-plant-atmosphere, drought monitoring and early detection.
Bio
I am currently a PhD candidate at the Laboratory of Hydrology and Water Management-Ghent University. I obtained my bachelor degree in Hefei University of Technology and studied for master degree at Hohai University with a major in hydrology and water resources. For my bachelor thesis, I investigated the evaporation and energy distribution during maize growth stage in Southeastern China. During my masters period, I explored the effect of climate change on the contribution of groundwater to crop root zones. Next, I developed an improved spatio-temporal identification method of flash droughts and now I am working on flash droughts forecast with Global Land Evaporation Amsterdam Model (GLEAM).
