Marloes Hagenaars works as a doctoral researcher at the Department of Sociology of Ghent University. As part of the EdisTools project she explores experiences of discrimination among migrants in secondary education and explores which underlying factors give rise to discriminatory behaviour among teachers. She is an active member of the Interdisciplinary Centre for Social Study of Migration and Refugees (CESSMIR) for which she coaches students as part of the Migration and Society course. In the past, Marloes obtained her Master degree in Sociology at Oxford University (2018) and graduated cum laude for her Master degree in Journalism at the University of the Arts in London (2016).
