Lesley Hustinx

"Lesley Hustinx is associate professor at the Centre for Social Theory, Department of Sociology at Ghent University. She received her PhD in 2003 from the University of Leuven, and was a visiting research fellow at the London School of Economics and Political Science, the University of Pennsylvania and the University of Southern California. Her major fields of interest are social theory, political sociology, critical citizenship studies and the sociology of the nonprofit sector and volunteering. Her ongoing research focuses on present-day developments in citizenship and citizen participation, including, among others, the underrepresentation of minorities in blood collection regimes, and social inequality in volunteering. Lesley Hustinx is serving on the editorial board of Voluntas: International Journal of Voluntary and Nonprofit Organizations and the Journal of Civil Society. She is the diversity coordinator of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences. "
