Chinese Students and Scholars Association Ghent - CHISAG [根特中国学生学者联合会] is an association for all Chinese students and scholars.

For many years already, the China Platform of Ghent University has a close cooperation with the Chinese Students and Scholars Association in Ghent.

ChiSAG is an association for all Chinese students, researchers and scholars in Ghent. It creates a platform through which they – and by extension all Chinese citizens living and working in Ghent - can find and meet each other through different types of activities and several types of social media such as WeChat, Facebook, ….

Activities

Apart from academic activities, cultural events, sports games and competitions, excursions and informal get-togethers, ChiSAG also hosts an annual Welcome Event for the new incoming students and researchers from China at the start of each academic year as well as an annual Chinese New Year Event to celebrate the Chinese new year in a festive way together with all the Chinese students, scholars and Chinese residents in Ghent as well as Ghent University staff and students and Belgian friends.

Eastern and African Association in Ghent University  Oosterse Afrikaanse Kring  (OAK)

The Eastern and African Association was established on 13 December 1960 and is officially recognized by Ghent University as a multicultural student association for the programmes Oriental Languages and Cultures and African Languages and Cultures of the Faculty of Arts and Philosophy of Ghent University.

Activities

The members of the OAK see it as their goal to make the student life of the students in the above-mentioned programmes more interesting and funny by organizing get-togethers, sportive and cultural events throughout each academic year.
