Research Focus

Our research group uses advanced DNA, RNA and protein analysis to better understand disease and improve therapies. We combine genomics, proteomics and epigenetics to study why people respond differently to medicines and why some patients develop side effects. This helps move towards safer, more personalized treatments. We also develop innovative mass-spectrometry methods to discover new biomarkers and to map the complex biology behind health and disease. In parallel, we apply our molecular expertise in vaccine and biopharmaceutical research, supporting the design, characterization and quality control of next-generation biologics. Finally, our group has a strong focus on forensic applications, improving the way DNA and proteins are used in the courtroom to identify individuals and reconstruct events.
