What we do

The Clinic for Ruminant Internal Medicine is the division of the university large-animal clinic dedicated to internal diseases of cattle, sheep, goats, alpacas, llamas and pet pigs. This clinic is specialized in advanced diagnostic techniques such as ultrasonography, endoscopy, blood testing and diagnostic assays, which provide the best chances of establishing a diagnosis for the individual animal or at the herd/farm level. Comprehensive care and treatment are offered, including hospitalization and 24-hour monitoring, while taking economic aspects into account.

In addition to in-clinic work, the veterinarians of the internal medicine clinic also perform on-farm visits, mainly for calf health and for less common conditions (infections, intoxications, …). The clinic is an important part of the training for both veterinary master students and specialists in cattle health management and internal medicine of large animals.
