European Master of Science in Nuclear Fusion and Engineering Physics (FUSION-EP)

Summary of the program

The European Master of Science in Nuclear Fusion and Engineering Physics (FUSION-EP) is a two-year master program concerning the development of controlled nuclear fusion as a sustainable energy source for future humankind. The focus of this international program lies both on the physics of fusion plasmas and on the technological challenges of building a fusion reactor. In each master year, students select a university within the FUSION-EP network for their studies. They receive a broad training during the first master year, while in the second year they continue their specialization in fusion physics and technology. There is ample time for interaction among students and the research community during the international lab sessions, the Summer Events and during their research period leading to the master dissertation.

Access to the program occurs via an online application, followed by a selection procedure based on prior study curriculum, motivation, etc. Successful applicants are eligible for a study grant covering installation costs and a monthly allowance.
