Plasma-assisted surface treatment

  • Surface activation of polymer films and textiles
  • Plasma-polymerization of thin polymeric layers on a wide range of substrates
  • Deposition of barrier coatings via plasma polymerization
  • Study of plasma penetration in porous structures

RUPT focuses on the treatment of polymer films and textiles with different types of plasma sources at medium or atmospheric pressure. The treatment effects can be characterized by the repertory of surface characterization techniques available at the research group. Both surface activation and plasma polymerization are studied in detail.
