The evaluation of pressure vessels (such as pipeline, heat exchangers, accumulators, …)

The evaluation of pressure vessels (such as pipeline, heat exchangers, accumulators, …)

For its qualification and/or (remaining) lifetime assessment, pressure vessels (such as pipes, heat exchangers, accumulators, etc.) must be evaluated.

Features:

Burst pressure capabilities and leak detection are essential for their internal pressure capacity in terms of fatigue performance.

  • Custom programmable pressure waveforms: sinusoidal, triangular, square…
  • Controlled pressure levels within 1% accurate by a control loop.
  • Simultaneous Internal pressure fatigue test and leak detection test of multiple (smaller) pressure vessels.
  • Additional measurement equipment: pressure sensors, thermocouples, strain gages…
  • A dedicated fixture is available to actively compensate the internal pressure acting on the end caps.
  • Artificial features (cracks, gauges…) or dents can be applied upon request.

Working principle:

The pressure vessels are connected with flexible hoses to a servo-hydraulic controlled piston that generates a dynamic or increasing internal pressure during the fatigue test or burst test respectively. During a leak detection test, pressure vessels are pressurized until the desired pressure level. At this level the vessels are decoupled and monitored during a predefined period of time.
