Sam Coppens has joined!

After completing his Civil Engineering masters at Ghent University, Sam has joined our lab as a new assistant under guidance of prof. Roman Wan-Wendner and prof. Robby Caspeele. His research focuses at one hand side on the new generation of Eurocode 2, tackling specific topics regarding the durability of concrete structures, the influence of normal forces on the shear resistance of (prestressed) concrete beams without transverse reinforcement and the influence of the scale effect on the shear resistance of such beams, and on the other hand side the more fundamental treatment of these topics as well as their time-dependent behaviour through numerical modelling.
