PermeaTORR AC (Active Cell) is the 4th Generation of an instrument designed to measure the coefficient of air-permeability kT of porous materials as an indicator of their durability and performance. Although intended for concrete, it has been used successfully also for testing stones, clays, refractories, and timber.
Swiss Standard SIA 262/1:2013 "Concrete Construction - Complementary Specifications", in its Annex E "Air-permeability on site", covers the test method, which is entirely non-destructive and suitable for site and lab applications. It is included in several specifications and recommendations worldwide: Chile, China, India, Japan, Intern. Atomic Energy Agency, RILEM TC 189-NEC.
