China Partners Academic Forum 2024 - CPAF2024: 11- 15 November 2024

(30-04-2024) 4th edition of the China Partners Academic Forum – CPAF 2024

In September 2021, the 1st edition of the China Partners Academic Forum took place on the occasion of the 15th Anniversary of our platform. The 2nd CPAF was held in October 2022, and a 3rd edition followed in November 2023. With these three editions, the East Asia Platform aimed to promote the cooperation in education, research and innovation between Ghent University and its partners universities in China and wanted to create a strong platform for scientific exchanges and collaboration.

From 11 November until 15 November 2024, the East Asia Platform will organize its 4th edition of the CPAF. In accordance with Ghent University's respect for diversity, innovation and inclusiveness, the forum will consist of seminars covering a wide range of disciplines. Consequently, we would like to warmly invite all alumni of Ghent University, who are willing to host a seminar, to register and undertake the preparation work for the seminar.

Basic Information

All the seminars can take place in a hybrid format: either online and/or on-site. The online seminars will need to be organized in the week from 11 until 15 November 2024.

On-site seminars in the partner institutions in China can be hosted in the period from September until December 2024. In the past, several of these on-site seminars were hosted in the presence of one or more Ghent University professors, who were able to travel to China in the exact period in which the event would take place.

Tasks - time frame

April - May: application period with deadline on May 31, 2024.

June - October: draft a seminar agenda & invite relevant keynote speakers / Make the necessary promotion and publicity / Handle all other practical matters.

September - December: organize the online and/or on-site seminar according to the schedule provided by the CPAF team.

Application

Eligibility

  • Be a Ghent University alumna/alumnus.
  • Have a past experience in organizing (online) seminars/conferences/events.
  • Be in the position to involve at least one Ghent University professor as one of the co-organizers and/or keynote speakers for the seminar. A confirmation letter or e-mail from the Ghent University professor will need to be submitted.
