13th EARNet Symposium
Prof Vander Bauwhede was invited by Prof Kris Hoang to serve as a panelist on Institutional and Community Leadership at the first Earnet Early-to-Mid-Career Faculty Workshop preceding the 13th EARNet Symposium at Vienna University of Economics and Business the past month.
She also had the pleasure of discussing the insightful paper by Monika Causholli, Tyler Kleppe, and Wenyin Li on Audit Firm Flexible Work Arrangements and Audit Quality.
Many thanks to the EARNet Symposium hosts (Ewald Aschauer, Markus Isack, and Klaus Hirschler) and the program committee (Kris Hardies, Lasse Niemi, and Jochen Theis) for making the symposium such a success.
ESARC: paper presentation Delphine Lobijn
Delphine presented her second paper co-authored with Philippe Van Cauwenberge, Ann Vanstraelen and Heidi Vander Bauwhede at the 2nd European Sustainability Accounting and Reporting Conference (ESARC). The paper examines the extent to which sustainability assurance affects the audit fee premium associated with climate-related risks.
We thank Ewelina Zarzycka for her discussion of the paper.
We also thank the conference organizers Ronita Ram and Gunnar Rimmel for making the 2nd ESARC conference a success at the great location of Henley-on-Thames.
Heidi Vander Bauwhede's visit to the University of Zurich
Prof Vander Bauwhede presented the paper, “The credibility of corporate disclosures: Does the joint provision of financial audit and sustainability assurance matter?”, co-authored with Delphine Lobijn, Philippe Van Cauwenberge, and Ann Vanstraelen at the University of Zurich.
Thanks to Patricia Ruffing-Straube for the invitation, Merle Ederhof, PhD , Felix P. Niggemann, Negin Attar-Niggemann and the other postdocs and PhD students for coffee and great conversations—and to all seminar participants for their interest in our work.
It was a great chance to share ideas with such an inspiring group.
