TITLE
Detection of protein-bound citrulline and functional analysis of citrullinated proteins
SUMMARY
Looking for causal genetic variation in candidate genes for canine hip dysplasia.
Canine hip dysplasia (CHD) is a highly prevalent complex disorder, caused by the interplay of environmental and genetic factors. Although selection against CHD based on phenotype (X-ray) has been applied for over three decades, this has had few results. In some breeds, still over 70 % of the dogs have CHD. A new approach must be followed to tackle this disease. Genetic testing, based on results of genotyping by second generation sequencing is the best alternative.
