Bachelor & Master in Dentistry

To be admitted to the bachelor in Dentistry at Ghent University, you must have passed the entrance exam organized by the government.

Studying Dentistry at Ghent University is a combination of medical, scientific, clinical, and patient oriented education. Fundamental knowledge is crucial so the first step in the programme is theoretical, combined with some practical exercises. In general, the bachelor years focus more on the preclinical training (skillslab), whereas in the master years the theoretical part is reduced, and the main focus is on clinical work and patient care.

Bachelor of Science in Dentistry

An extensive 3-year bachelor's programme results in a strong theoretical basis. In addition, the bachelor's degree programme is characterized by an early introduction to clinical practice. For example, students start treating patients in the first year of the bachelor programme.

Master of Science in Dentistry

The 2-year master programme is designed to enhance your expertise and focus on specific dental disciplines as restorative, pediatric and digital dentistry, periodontics, orthodontics, and endodontics. A master thesis is the final project of the scientific learning path.
