Developing molecular diagnostic assays for identification, detection and genotyping of bacterial, fungal and protozoan pathogens in the domains of airway and urogenital infections, with an emphasis on cystic fibrosis respectively vaginitis/bacterial vaginosis pathogens.
Research Topics
- Urogenital pathogens with an emphasis on their role in urniary tract infection, vaginitis and preterm birth, such as Gardnerella species, Streptococcus agalactiae and Escheriachia coll
- The promotion of phage therapy as a means to resolve chronic infection problems cuased by multidrug resistance bacteria such as Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Achromobacter xylosoxidans and Staphylococcus aureus.
