Aids Reference Laboratory(ARL)

The Aids Reference Laboratory (ARL) is accredited by Belac and operates under the ISO15189 recommendations.

In the ARL, blood samples are analyzed for the presence of HIV antibodies. Quantitative PCR analyses are conducted to measure the amount of viral particles in blood plasma or the number of infected blood cells.

Sequencing of the viral genome is performed to define presence of mutations that may lead to a reduced efficiency of antiretroviral drugs.
