Basic and Translational Endocrinology
The Basic and Translational Endocrinology (BaTE) lab studies sex hormone signaling in non-reproductive target tissues including the musculoskeletal system, liver and kidney. By combining mouse models of deficient sex hormone action with omics approaches, we aim to understand how sex hormone receptors regulate physiological processes in these tissues, and how this regulation is altered in clinically relevant situations such as metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease and gender-affirming hormone therapy.
Infrastructure and techniques
Mouse breeding and handling, PCR, qRT-PCR, western blotting, ELISA, immunohistochemistry, cistromic and transcriptomic analyses
