Impact of Hemodialysis on Antibiotic Disposition in Adults

Patients with severe renal impairment may present with altered drug pharmacokinetics. Also renal replacement therapy is known to impact drug elimination. In this line of research, we investigate antibiotic disposition in adults on intermittent hemodialysis, in order to derive evidence-based dosing regimens.

The ongoing research is performed in close collaboration with clinicians from the Department of Nephrology of the Ghent University Hospital (prof. S. Eloot and prof. W. Van Biesen)
