IPEM
Institute for Psychoacoustics and Electronic Music is a research group focused on music cognition and expressive interaction with music. It develops interdisciplinary methods based on music theory, performer-inspired analysis, advanced behavioural and neuroscientific empirical experiments, statistics and computer modelling. At IPEM, music-based feedback systems are created for applications in fields such as music education, rehabilitation, sports activities and art.
GICAS
Ghent Interdisciplinary Centre for Art and Science is a collaboration between members of the faculties of Arts and Philosophy (Art History, Archaeology, History), Sciences (Analytical Chemistry) and Architecture and Engineering (Image Processing) at UGhent. Research concentrates on material aspects of works of art, with special focus on painting from the Low Countries (15th -17th centuries). The Centre applies both imaging as image processing techniques, as well as material analysis with respect to art historical questions and applications in conservation and restoration.
KB45
Art in Belgium since 1945 is a multidisciplinary research group of the department of Architecture & Urban Planning and the department of Art Sciences at UGhent. KB45 studies the living arts in Belgium since 1945 from both a local and international perspective. The approach is simultaneously art-historical, critical and social-institutional. The research group focuses on the careers and oeuvres of artists, exhibition histories, institutional histories and architectural conditions in relation to cultural policy and the larger political context in Belgium.

Revers - Belgian Fashion Research Network is a Belgian interdisciplinary network for research in fashion, textiles, and dress. Its aim is to connect and unite Belgian-based researchers, students and professionals in order to share research outputs, skills, and knowledge resources.
ThIS
The Inside Story. Art, Interior & Architecture 1750-1950 is an interdisciplinary research group that brings together members of the departments of Art History and Architectural Engineering from both Ghent University and VUB. ThIS focuses on research into the history of art, interiors and the interior arts from 1750 to 1950, with an emphasis on Belgium. Usually starting from the art object, it examines the role of art in the context of the interior and architecture, with an eye for heritage policy and gender issues.
S:PAM
Studies in Performing Arts & Media is an interdisciplinary research group that brings together researchers from the fields of theatre, performance, dance and media arts. S:PAM aims to explore new methodologies and research interests in the study of historical and contemporary performing arts and media, questioning their social, cultural and artistic impact from a historical, intermedial and cross-cultural perspective. S:PAM encompasses and combines theoretical and practice-based research. It is firmly embedded in the vibrant performing arts scene in Flanders and beyond.
