Steering Group Member

Louisa Bogaerts is an assistant professor at Ghent University's Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences.

Leading a research group dedicated to the cognitive science of learning and language, her focus lies in uncovering how and when adults and children implicity learn the regular patterns characterizing their environment. In addition, her research aims to elucidate how our brain stores the regularities we learn, why some of us learn with much greater ease than others, and how input structure is used to both acquire and process language.

Before starting her group in Ghent through the support of the Odysseus programme, she held positions in labs around the world including Haskins Laboratories, Aix-Marseille University, the Hebrew University, and Free University Amsterdam. Her collaborative efforts extend to institutions in North America, including Cornell University, the University of Connecticut, and the University of Toronto.
