Elisabeth Velle
Elisabeth Velle currently leads External Affairs and Community Building at the science parks of Ghent University: Tech Lane Ghent Science Park and Ostend Science Park. Elisabeth Velle fosters collaboration between academia, industry, and local stakeholders in order to strengthen innovation ecosystems.
With 15 years of experience in internationalisation of higher education, Elisabeth Velle builds on an international network across the globe. Between 2022-2025, Elisabeth Velle dealt with academic diplomacy and has been the coordinator of the UGent North America platform, specifically deepening collaboration with the United States and Canada.
Elisabeth Velle holds a Master’s in History and a teaching degree from Ghent University. She has studied at the Sorbonne Paris IV and finished a Master’s in European Studies from Université libre de Bruxelles. Earlier professional experience includes roles at the EU Council of Ministers and the Royal Museum for Central Africa (RMCA, Brussels).
