Master Dissertation Contract
For master's dissertations in collaboration with third parties (companies, non-profit organizations, etc.) a specific agreement for master thesis projects must be concluded. Among other things, it sets forth the liability provisions and confidentiality agreements. This agreement must be signed by the student, by the supervisor of UGent, by the organisation and finally by the Director of Studies of the faculty of Engineering and Architecture.

Confidentiality
(1) If the student carries out the master's thesis in a research lab or within a UGent research project, the faculty confidentiality declaration is signed by supervisors, promoters and jury members.
(2) If the student is conducting the master's thesis in an external company, the master's thesis contract (see above, under 'Modalities') is sufficient in most cases.
(3) In other cases where the student is involved in a research project, or where you want to ensure confidentiality, the unilateral declaration of confidentiality and assignment of rights can be used. This declaration can also be used outside the master's thesis, e.g. in the context of labs, assignments, tasks, practicals.
