BeLAS
The Belgian ‘Language in Autism’ Study (BeLAS) is a national research project on language development in children with autism conducted in collaboration with Université libre de Bruxelles and KU Leuven. In this project, we would like to investigate which factors contribute to the language development of children with autism, which is why we follow them up for two years. We examine different factors such as play and imitation skills, environmental factors, sleep quality, and brain activity. To assess language skills, we use standardised language tests and record the children's speech during a typical day at home.
