Mission and Vision

The Department of Developmental, Personality and Social Psychology is a multidisciplinary department responsible for education, research, and services in the fields of Developmental Psychology, Clinical Developmental Psychology, Personality Psychology, Social Psychology, and Peer Relations.

In addition to making an important contribution to the education of the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences, the department also provides service education for the Educational Master's program and for the faculties of Arts and Philosophy, Law, and Political and Social Sciences. For students who want to study or do an internship abroad via Erasmus, the department also offers a wide range of opportunities.

Research focuses on the synergy between fundamental and applied or policy-relevant research with target groups of normal and clinical populations of different ages. Illustrative of this are research on motivational processes, parenting, and socialization; clinical research on obesity and eating disorders; research on personality, temperament, and the development of maladaptive traits, and social psychological research on decision-making processes, procedural justice, prejudices, and political attitudes. Our research uses various research methods such as questionnaire research, longitudinal designs, and experiments, often using multiple informants.
