Elisabeth Van den Abeele

Biography

Elisabeth Van den Abeele is a doctoral assistant in the Department of Communication Sciences at Ghent University and a member of the Centre for Persuasive Communication (CEPEC). She obtained her PhD in 2024 under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Liselot Hudders and Dr. Ini Vanwesenbeeck. Her dissertation examined the role of children in influencer sharenting, with particular attention to its ethical implications.

She currently serves as a teaching assistant at CEPEC, where she is responsible for coordinating internships in the Master of Communication Sciences program. Her ongoing research focuses on influencer sharenting, with a special interest in safeguarding the privacy of the children involved.
